CF Resaerch Grants 2010: Call for applications
The Belgian Cystic Fibrosis Association / Association Muco / Mucoviscidosevereniging
will support new projects for applied scientific research in 2010
Research Project
Projects will be taken in consideration if they meet the following conditions:
• The project is a clinical research project directly related to CF treatment and care
• The research project will directly or indirectly improve the quality of life of CF patients
• The project addresses medical, allied health or psychosocial issues related to CF
• The research is carried out in a research institute or centre located in Belgium
• The research term does not exceed 2 years
Preference is given to multi-centre clinical research.
In order to be recognized as a multi-centre project there has to be proof of collaboration between researchers from different centres regarding the content of the research, inclusion of patients of different research centres and logistic cooperation. The requested funds need to be discussed with all participating research centres
and all directors of the participating research centres have to sign the application form.
Particular attention is given to projects which are innovative and make an obvious contribution to the well being of patients with CF in Belgium.
Only projects with clearly defined specific objectives and hypotheses, primary and secondary aims and methods, sample calculations and statistical methods will be accepted.
It is recommended to obtain the advice of an expert before the application is submitted.

Submit your application on the form provided by the Association.

The application has to be written in English.
The “Guide for Applicants CF Research Grant 2010” will provide you with detailed information about the evaluation process.
Deadlines
The deadline for receipt of applications is January 11, 2010
Applicants will be notified of the decision before June 30, 2010
Grants will be paid from July 2010.
Grant
A maximum of € 75.000 per project may be requested for single-center clinical research grants.
For multi-centre clinical research, the potential grant is up to 100.000 €

Appel de l’Association Muco
L’Association Muco belge fait appel à tous les chercheurs qui veulent débuter en 2008 un projet de recherche scientifique appliquée. Les projets qui seront soumis à l’approbation du Comité scientifique doivent répondre à certaines conditions.Un maximum de 75.000 € pourront être octroyés pour les études effectuées par un centre muco. Pour les études multicentres, ce montant pourra être élargi à 100.000 €. Les conditions détaillées et le formulaire de demande pour le CF Grants 2008 peuvent être téléchargés ci-dessous.

Appel du Fonds Forton The Alphonse and Jean Forton Fund
has been created to support research on cystic fibrosis and related diseases. It is administered by the King Baudouin Foundation with the help of a scientific committee. Subject of the call The scientific subject may extend from very basic research on the cell and molecular biology and genetic of genes and proteins that may be involved in cystic fibrosis and genetic anionic channelopathies and possible mechanisms contributing to the diseases to more clinically oriented investigations and studies on therapeutic or epidemiologic aspects. This Fund aims to promote both high level research and the training of young researchers by providing financial support to several research projects every year. Eligible applicants The call is open to researchers or research teams within universities or a research centres in Belgium. Projects in collaboration with several international research teams must be initiated or coordinated by teams based in Belgium. Grants Preference will be given to projects covering a maximal amount of 50.000 to 60.000 € per year, for a period of 3 years and to young scientists.
